My Story: December 2001
Our family was hit by tradegy with the news that our 8 year old son had Cancer (Brain Stem Gliomas). During our research we heard about an experimental treatment that was in clinical trials, but the clinic was located in Texas. A local business and the community held an auction for my son to raise funds for medical treatments in Texas. They raised over $10,000 for airfare and our stay at a nearby hotel to the clinic we would be traveling back and forth to the clinic for our sons treatment. We went on to hold numerous car washes (and selling candy we had purchased at our local Costco) at our local gas station for my sons medical treatments and travel expenses to Texas.
