Homemade Pizza from Scratch
Chicken Crust Pizza

Homemade Pizza from scratch is easier than you think; made with almond flour, perfect blend flour, mozzarella cheese, cream cheese, psyllium husk, yeast, and mozzarella. You’ve found the Best Homemade Pizza crust is so delicious, it even tastes just as good when adding various herbs, spices, and seeds. When it comes to Pizza and health, I’m thinking… No way!  But, I was pleasantly surprised by how many different things you can make out of almond flour, coconut flour, the perfect blend flour, cauliflower, and broccoli.

Homemade Pizza from Scratch…

When it comes to pizza, boy, do I love pizza? I was on a mission to find the best pizza crust recipe. When I made this same crust from scratch years ago, I used all-purpose flour or whole wheat with different herbs and ingredients in the recipe. I had found a good recipe and the crust turned out so good. The upper photo is when I wanted a change and wanted to stick with my low-carb lifestyle… So, I made Chicken Crust Pizza. (I think I will add this recipe to my other site that has more recipes, later.)

For years, I kept hearing about Keto and low-carb dieting. I was amazed at all my favorite bread I can make out almond flour, the perfect blend flour, and coconut flour. There are so many crust recipes that are Low-Carb, vegan, and Keto related. But, I was plenty surprised by how many pizza crust recipes were out there.

I went back to basics, and discovered what I could eat and what I couldn’t. And, then revamped my favorite recipes and then for the big taste, I had my family taste. The transition from bread to Keto bread was killing me until I went back to the kitchen and tried making my favorite foods. I’ve learned a lot in the last few years, especially since I’m a foodie and a late-night Snacker. Yes, it was literally an emotional roller-coaster ride.

Well, first you will want to make the sauce, so the ingredients have time to meld together. No cooking is required. Believe me, this recipe is much better than the store-bought jar.

What is Almond Flour & Psyllium Husk?

Almond flour is more finely ground than ricked cauliflower, which makes it better at mimicking white flour, thus, one of the best low-carb pizza base ingredients. Psyllium husk, a fiber made from the outer shell of a psyllium plant’s seeds, is another ingredient selected with the intention of making the crust more bread-like. It’s used in baking as a binding agent, which further helps you avoid a crumbly crust. You’ll incorporate yeast as you would for traditional pizza dough, so it’ll even have a similar aroma to regular bread.

One recipe’s worth makes a 12-inch pizza; 42 grams of carbs per serving. So if you split the pizza into eight slices, it’ll be about 5 carbs per slice. Taking fiber into the equation, it’s about 3 net carbs per slice.) If you are on the keto diet, you can top it with your favorite high-fat, low-carb toppings.

The Perfect Blend Flour

This recipe uses The Perfect Blend Flour which has arrowroot flour as one of the ingredients, which softens the mix. Because of food allergies, I use Arrowroot instead of cornstarch. Arrowroot is completely tasteless, gluten-free, easy to digest, and works very well in baked goods, as in making Homemade Pizza from Scratch. And, Arrowroot powder is used as a thickener, like in sauces, arrowroot becomes clear when cooked. Arrowroot is made from a tropical root plant whenever a recipe calls for starch.

The flour blend from Namaste Foods is made with wholesome ingredients such as Sweet brown rice flour, tapioca starch, brown rice flour, arrowroot starch, sorghum flour, and xantham gum to ensure only necessary and healthy ingredients goes into your body. It is not just Gluten Free but does not have any GMO ingredients in it.

  • Freshly ground black pepper or a pinch of crushed red peppers

Mix all ingredients in a small bowl. Set aside.

Note:

With Italian seasonings (in place of Johnny’s seasonings), 1/2 tsp. sea salt and fresh ground black pepper or crushed red pepper.

Using individual ingredients: add 2 tablespoon olive oil, 3 garlic cloves, OR 1/4 tsp. Garlic powder, minced, 1 medium finely chopped, 1/2 tsp. Oregano, 1 tsp. Basil, 1/2 tsp. Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.

If I am not in a hurry, I will roast the garlic first, before adding it to the rest of the ingredients.
