Wine and bread pairing

As a general guideline, opt for lighter bread to accompany lighter wines, and choose heavier, denser bread to pair with more complex wines. When it comes to bread alone, I find it shares more similarities with white wines rather than reds.

Consider pairing focaccia made from wheat flour with New World Chardonnay, or a simple white bread also made from wheat flour, characterized by its common yet delightful “buttery” notes, with a cool climate Chardonnay.
