Make Crispier Chicken Wings

These are so incredible, I remember when I first tasted these wings, all I could think about is how delicious these would taste with my mandarin fried chicken wings sauce; that I keep getting many request for.

How to make Crispier Chicken Wings in a air fryer:

The blend I use to make the flour mixture for these chicken wings is a combination of flour, smoked paprika, Johnny’s all-purpose seasoning.

There’s an amazing dry rub at Costco called, “Kirkland Sweet Mesquite seasoning.” Last night, my husband dry rubbed some chicken legs and baked them on 375º degrees for at least 1 hour. This seasoning gave the chicken legs a beautiful smoky flavor, from the smoked paprika, and an amazing spicy kick (cayenne pepper)… that’s oh so good. You can also use lemon pepper seasoning instead.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE THIS DISH

For Baking method:

**Make sure to pat chicken dry before seasoning. Once you season and coat chicken you will place them on the cooling rack in a single layer and place in a fridge for at least 30 minutes. For a thicker coat, place in coat mix again and dust off excess.

**NO OIL NEEDED -The oil from the chicken wings will break down and when combined with the salt and baking pwderk will form a crunchy crust that is to die for.

**Air-Fryer Method: The wings are first air-fried on medium heat to cook the interior and then the heat is turned up to 400F to crisp up the skin. The result is chicken wings that are soft and tender on the inside and super crispy on the outside.

**Bake in the conventional oven or Oster Convection Oven on 375°  degrees for 30 minutes.

Why Baking Powder?

Baking powder; Using Baking Powder is optional since you are using an Air Fryer. And, if you pat the chicken wings dry with a paper towel real well. Furthermore, it’s a mixture of sodium bicarbonate, cream of tartar, and cornstarch. Moreover, when mixed with salt and coated on chicken it dries out the skin, leaving it extra crispy and crunchy.

NOTES

**Do not overlap wings. Giving the wings enough room will allow them to cook evenly and crisp up all around. Using a large air fryer will allow you to achieve the best result in just 1 round.. Great for a large family or crowd.

** I love lots of garlic and with every Johnny’s Seasonings container we buy, I would add an addition of granulated garlic.
